Susan Anderson-Benson

Susan Anderson-Benson has worked at the Selim Center at the University of St. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ since 2005. She has also been an occasional instructor for music courses in the Center's lecture series and event programming from Winter 2009 through Spring 2025. Susan has taught music from 1974-2025, in both studio and classroom settings. She earned Bachelors and Masters degrees in music from the University of Minnesota and is ABD in ethnomusicology. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, the international music fraternity, and is a past president of the Minneapolis/St. Paul alumnae chapter. An active speaker, she also pursues her passion for sharing the "story behind the music" and engaging others in music-making and appreciation as a part of her membership in Sigma Alpha Iota.
