Leadership & Creative Communications Living Learning Community​
The art of communication is essential for students who want to excel in communications, business, marketing, management, and legal careers. Strong leaders are creative communicators! in COMM 100, you will learn to express yourself creatively, build a personal brand, and present your ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. You will learn to pitch your story as an entrepreneur, creative artist, or manager in a way that is compelling and persuasive to potential clients. COMM 100 is an allied requirement in most Business programs, as well as in Data Analytics, Actuarial Science, Public Health, and Pre-Law. It is also the gateway course to a Communication Studies major or minor.
In spring semester, you will enroll in two 2-credit courses, COMM 246/248: Improvisation, which will teach you strategies for extemporaneous communication and for establishing creative, collaborative relationships with coworkers. It also counts as an Integration in Humanities and Write to Learn course in the core curriculum.
This LLC is designed for students majoring in Communication Studies, Business, Data Analytics, Actuarial Science, Environmental Studies, Marketing, Pre-law, and Health Sciences.
