A Message From The Director
Dr. Young-ok An
Our Center supports faculty’s professional growth at St. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½. We administer a variety of grants to benefit faculty research and scholarship; and we offer numerous pedagogical programs to meet the needs and desires of faculty in their teaching lives. We aim to provide resources to faculty at different stages of their professional careers to help them become more effective and reflective teachers, while enhancing diversity and inclusion in the classrooms and beyond. We also welcome faculty partners to identify and facilitate evolving pedagogical practices. Our programs, such as the Faculty Mentoring Program, Classroom Consultants, and Writers’ Retreats, have served colleagues across the campus and are going strong. If you have any questions, please contact facdevctr@stthomas.edu.
Collaborations & Partnerships
Faculty are part of a vibrant ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ of scholar-teachers at St. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, focusing on important questions, working across disciplines, and advancing knowledge for the common good. In addition to our internal grants program, there are many external resources available to advance faculty research.
St. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ ELearning & Research (STELAR)
STELAR partners with Faculty Development to provide faculty learning opportunities related to course design best practices, online and blended teaching techniques, and accessibility practices.
Adjunct Faculty Council
We work closely with the Adjunct Faculty Council to support and address the needs of Adjunct Faculty. The Faculty Development Committee, which oversees our internal grants, includes adjunct faculty representation.
Faculty Advancement
The Office of Faculty Advancement and Research supports faculty in their professional development of teaching, research and grant seeking.
